Introduction MusLinc is committed to fostering a friendly, respectful, and values-driven community for all users. By using MusLinc, you agree to follow these guidelines, which are part of our Terms of Service. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space grounded in core Islamic values and legal obligations. Violations of these rules can result in content removal, warnings, suspension, or permanent banning of your account. We trust you will help us maintain a positive environment, and we are here to support you in doing so. Our Values and Principles Islamic Etiquette (Akhlaq): MusLinc is built on the Islamic principles of kindness, modesty, honesty, and gentleness. We remind all members to remain courteous in speech and conduct, reflecting the Prophetic teaching: “You must be gentle, and beware of harshness and obscenity.” (Hadith of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ) This means treating others with compassion and avoiding rude or obscene language. Upholding akhlaq – good character – helps ensure every interaction on MusLinc is respectful and considerate. Honesty and Authenticity: Honesty is key to meaningful connections. Always present yourself truthfully – use your real information and accurate photos. Misrepresentation (lying about your age, identity, intentions, etc.) undermines trust. Be real about who you are and what you seek; MusLinc is designed for genuine connections. Remember that deception (e.g. “catfishing” with a fake profile) is strictly prohibited and will lead to account removal. Modesty and Decency: We value modesty in conduct and content. Members should keep profiles, photos, and conversations appropriate and halal. No nudity or sexually explicit content is allowed – for both men and women, modesty is paramount. Controlling one’s desires and actions, even when unobserved, is part of good character (akhlaq). Please dress and behave on the app as you would in any respectable public setting. Kindness and Respect: Always interact with gentleness and respect. Disagreements or rejections are never an excuse for insults, harassment, or harsh words. Behind every profile is a real person with feelings – treat others as you would want to be treated. Embrace polite language and a positive tone. Foul or abusive language goes against our values and may result in a ban. MusLinc is a place for uplifting interactions, so lift each other up, don’t tear each other down. Inclusivity and Tolerance: We welcome users of all backgrounds and walks of life. Embrace diversity in culture, ethnicity, sect, and perspective. There is no place on MusLinc for bigotry, racism, sectarianism or prejudice. You do not have to agree with everyone, but you must remain respectful. Any form of hate speech or discrimination (even if intended as a “joke”) is forbidden. MusLinc is about bringing people together, and that means showing courtesy and understanding to all. Prohibited Conduct and Content To keep MusLinc safe and enjoyable, certain behaviours and content are strictly prohibited. Engaging in any of the following may result in content removal, warnings, or immediate account termination:
- Harassment and Bullying: No harassment, bullying, or intimidation. This includes insults, name-calling, shaming, threats, or any behaviour meant to belittle or scare another person. Do not send unwanted repeated messages or try to pressure someone who isn’t responding – stalking or coercion will not be tolerated. Any form of harassing or intimidating behaviour (threats, blackmail, etc.) is strictly forbidden. Be especially mindful that rejection or differences of opinion are not to be met with abuse.
- Hate Speech and Discrimination: Absolutely no hate speech or discrimination. You may not attack or demean anyone based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sect, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other personal characteristic. Slurs, derogatory epithets, or support for extremist ideologies or hate groups have no place on MusLinc. We have zero tolerance for hateful content – such offenses typically result in an immediate and permanent ban.
- Inappropriate or Foul Language: Keep it clean and respectful. Profanity, obscene or grossly vulgar language, and slurs are not welcome on our platform. Our Islamic values teach us to speak with dignity, and we expect all users to refrain from using foul or abusive language. Content or messages that are excessively crude or contain curse words may lead to warnings or bans. In short, if you wouldn’t say it in a polite, public setting, don’t say it here.
- Sexual Harassment and Explicit Content: No sexual harassment or explicit sexual content. Do not send unwelcome sexual comments, lewd jokes, or any pornographic material to anyone. Never send sexually explicit photos or messages to someone who hasn’t clearly consented – sending unsolicited sexual content is a form of harassment. Also, keep your profile and images free of nudity or sexually explicit material. Any content depicting sexual acts, genitalia, or explicit nudity is forbidden. Users should not pressure others for sexual favours or repeatedly steer conversations toward sexual topics against the other’s comfort. MusLinc is a modest environment; sexual content must be avoided.
- Violence and Threats: No threats or incitement of violence. You may not threaten anyone with physical harm, nor encourage or glorify violence, terrorism, or any criminal act. This includes direct threats as well as indirect ones, and any support or praise for violent organizations. Even joking about violence can make others feel unsafe, so it is not allowed. Any content (text or images) that contains graphic violence, gore, or cruelty is prohibited. We maintain a zero-tolerance stance on violent threats or content – such behaviour will lead to an immediate ban.
- Illegal or Exploitative Activity: Do not use MusLinc for any illegal purposes. Using the app to promote or facilitate criminal activity is strictly forbidden. This includes discussing or arranging drug use or sales, weapons, hacking, or any unlawful plans. No involvement in sexual exploitation, prostitution, or human trafficking – any content or proposition suggesting prostitution, “transactional” intimate arrangements, human trafficking or modern slavery will result in an immediate ban. MusLinc will cooperate with law enforcement as required, especially if such serious violations occur. In short, if it’s illegal in the offline world, it’s not allowed here.
- Scams and Fraud: No scamming or fraudulent behaviour. Do not deceive or defraud other users. This means you must not impersonate MusLinc staff or any other person to trick someone, and you cannot concoct stories to solicit money or personal information under false pretences. Common scams (for example, asking someone you just met for money “for an emergency” or pretending to need financial help) are absolutely prohibited. Requesting money or gifts from other members is not allowed – no user should be asking for loans, cash, or financial favours on this platform. Users caught attempting to scam others (financially or otherwise) will be banned. Always be wary if someone you meet on the app asks for money or sensitive info – report such behaviour immediately.
- Spam and Commercial Solicitation: MusLinc is not a platform for advertising or spam. Do not use our app to promote products, services, or external websites, and do not send mass messages or unwanted repetitive content. This includes posting referral links, business promotions, or attempting to recruit others for multi-level marketing, etc. No solicitation of other users for commercial purposes. For example, you may not message members with discount codes or ask them to follow your business on social media. Any account engaging in spam behaviour or trying to advertise or sell anything will be removed. Likewise, do not solicit personal contact info or off-app contact in a pushy manner simply to avoid moderation – that can be a red flag for scams. Keep communications organic and on-topic (building personal connections, not business leads).
- Impersonation and Fake Profiles: Be yourself – no fake or stolen identities. You may not impersonate any person or organization, nor create a profile for anyone other than yourself. This means no pretending to be a celebrity, another MusLinc user, or “borrowing” someone else’s photos. Catfishing (using a fake identity to deceive others) is strictly forbidden. Each user is allowed one account, and it must represent a real individual who is actually you. Misleading others by using old photos that no longer resemble you, or significantly misrepresenting facts about yourself, also violates the spirit of honesty. MusLinc may verify profiles (through selfies or ID checks) to catch impersonators. Those found falsifying their identity will be banned.
- Underage Use and Content: No minors are allowed on MusLinc. You must be 18 years or older to register and use our services. It is strictly prohibited to create an account if you are under 18, or to include any content featuring minors (even your own children or family) in your profile. For example, do not post photos of anyone under 18; even childhood photos of yourself are not allowed on your dating profile. If we suspect or discover an underage user, we will terminate the account and may report the incident to the authorities in line with our legal obligations. MusLinc has zero tolerance for child exploitation – any hint of grooming or sexual communication with a minor will be reported to law enforcement immediately. Keeping our community 18+ is essential for everyone’s safety.
- Privacy Violations and Personal Data Misuse: Respect everyone’s privacy. Do not share another person’s private information without their explicit consent. Doxxing – posting someone’s real name, address, phone number, workplace, photos, or any sensitive personal details – is absolutely forbidden. If you happen to know another member outside the app, you must not reveal their personal info or spread rumours about them on MusLinc. Similarly, do not collect or scrape information from the platform for any purpose. Each user’s data is protected by privacy laws (including UK GDPR), and misuse of personal data can have legal consequences. Also, be cautious with your own personal information: we strongly advise against sharing details like your home or work address in your profile or early in conversations. Protect your privacy and others’.
- Other Misconduct: Any other behaviour that violates our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines is prohibited. This includes attempts to circumvent our moderation systems, encouraging others to break rules, or using the app in a way it was not intended (e.g., to conduct surveys, political campaigning, or any purpose unrelated to personal connections). If in doubt whether something is allowed – err on the side of caution or ask our support team. MusLinc reserves the right to remove any content or user that it deems to be in violation of the letter or spirit of these guidelines or for any other reason in our sole discretion.
Safety, Privacy and Off-Platform Conduct Your safety is extremely important to us. We urge all members to follow these safety guidelines to protect themselves both on and off the app:
- Keep Conversations on MusLinc: We strongly advise you to keep all conversations within the app, especially in the initial stages. MusLinc has features and monitoring that can help keep you safe during in-app chats. If you move the conversation to text, phone, or other platforms too soon, we cannot protect or assist you if something goes wrong. Scammers often try to push people to communicate off-platform quickly – be very wary if someone insists on moving to WhatsApp/Telegram/email immediately. Staying on MusLinc for chatting means we can better address any harassment or abuse, and you also keep your personal contact info private until you’re ready to share it.
- Be Cautious with Personal Information: Do not share sensitive personal information with someone you’ve just met online. This includes your full name, address, workplace, daily routines, financial information, or any copies of official documents. Build trust first over time. Until you have a high level of trust, keep identifying details private. Never send someone you haven’t met in person money or financial details (bank accounts, credit card numbers, etc.) – legitimate connections will not ask for these early on, if ever. If another user asks you for financial help or personal data, that’s a major red flag – please report them. Guard your privacy as well; do not post contact info publicly in your profile or messages. We adhere to UK data protection laws and our Privacy Policy to protect your data, and we expect you to also handle personal data with care and in accordance with the law.
- Plan Safe Meetings: If you decide to meet someone in person, always put your safety first. Treat initial meetups like blind dates: meet in a public, populated place (a café, restaurant, etc.) rather than at a private residence. Inform a friend or family member of your plans – tell them who you are meeting, where, and when, and consider sharing your live location with someone you trust. Use your own transportation to and from the meeting if possible, so you are not dependent on someone you don’t know well. It’s perfectly fine (and encouraged) to set boundaries, like scheduling a short first meeting or bringing a friend along nearby (in a culturally appropriate way), if that makes you more comfortable. Do not feel pressured to do anything you are not comfortable with and never hesitate to cut a meeting short if the other person disrespects your boundaries or gives you bad vibes. Your well-being comes first.
- Offline Interactions Are at Your Own Risk: MusLinc does not conduct formal criminal background checks on users and cannot guarantee that every user is who they claim to be or has pure intentions. We do employ verification tools (our Verification provider is Amazon Web Services - AWS– please check them here aws.amazon.com and we ask users to self-certify certain information (for example, that they have no serious criminal convictions), but ultimately you should use common sense and caution with anyone you meet. Understand that any meeting or interaction outside the app is solely at your own risk. MusLinc does not monitor, arrange, or provide chaperones for in-person meetings, and we cannot accompany or protect you once you are offline. We strongly recommend following our safety tips, but we cannot ensure your personal safety – that responsibility lies with you. By choosing to meet someone in real life, you assume the risks involved. If something seems “off” or too good to be true, trust your instincts. Always exercise caution just as you would when meeting any new person for the first time.
- No Guarantee of a Match or Outcome: While MusLinc is designed to introduce you to potential partners, we cannot guarantee that you will find a match, a spouse, or achieve any particular outcome. Finding the right person can take time and is influenced by factors outside our control (including your own efforts and compatibility with others). MusLinc provides the platform for connections, but we make no promises of success. Please use the app with realistic expectations. If you spend some time on MusLinc and haven’t met “the one” yet, remember that outcomes are not guaranteed – and that’s not a failure of the platform. We encourage patience and positivity in your search.
Reporting and Moderation We take violations of these guidelines very seriously. MusLinc uses both automated tools and human moderators to keep our community safe:
- Reporting Problems: If you encounter any content or behaviour that breaches these guidelines (for example, harassment, hate speech, fake profiles, scams, etc.), please report it immediately. MusLinc makes reporting easy and confidential. You can report a user or a chat message via the in-app report feature (usually found in the profile menu or chat options). When you report someone, our team is alerted and will investigate the issue. We investigate every report and will take appropriate action if a violation is confirmed. Your reports help us protect the community – you’re our eyes and ears on the platform. We also encourage you to block any user who is making you uncomfortable; blocking and reporting are important tools for your safety.
- Moderation Tools: Our systems may automatically filter or flag certain content. For instance, we may use text filters that prevent slurs or extremely offensive language from being sent, or blur/screen images that might be inappropriate pending review. These tools help catch problems quickly, but they are not perfect. In addition, our team of human moderators’ reviews reports and content to enforce the rules. Please note that content you post (profiles, photos, messages) must comply with these guidelines and may be removed by our moderators if found in violation. We also have an approval system: new accounts or content might be checked to ensure compliance before being fully visible.
- Enforcement Actions: If you violate the guidelines, the response will depend on the severity and context of the issue. For minor or first-time violations, we might issue a warning or require you to correct the issue (for example, asking you to edit your profile if it has inappropriate language). For more serious violations, or repeat offenses, we will suspend or permanently ban your account without warning. Extreme misconduct (such as hate speech, child exploitation, severe harassment, or threats) typically results in an immediate permanent ban on the first offense. MusLinc reserves the right to remove or ban any account that violates these guidelines or our Terms, including terminating accounts at our sole discretion for egregious or repeated violations. Banned users may be prevented from re-registering for MusLinc.
- Appeals: We strive to be fair. If you believe we have made a mistake in our moderation (for example, if your account was suspended due to a misunderstanding), you may contact our support team to appeal. We will review the situation and restore your account or content if appropriate. However, frivolous or dishonest appeals will not be entertained. Our priority is keeping the community safe and respectful, and we err on the side of caution when enforcing these rules.
- Community Cooperation: Enforcement is a two-way street – while we work hard to catch and address issues, we rely on the community to uphold these standards. By following the rules and reporting bad actors, you contribute to a safer environment for everyone. We also remind you not to abuse the reporting feature: false or malicious reports against innocent users violate these guidelines and may result in action against the reporter. Always report in good faith, for genuine concerns (do not use reports as a way to harass someone you simply dislike).
Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability MusLinc is designed to provide a platform for meeting new people, but there are important limits to our responsibilities and liabilities that you need to understand:
- “As-Is” Service: MusLinc is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We strive for a high-quality, uninterrupted service, but we do not guarantee the app will be error-free, always available, or perfect. There may be occasional bugs, glitches, or downtime (for maintenance or due to technical issues). We will do our best to fix issues and keep the service running smoothly, but we can’t promise a flawless experience. By using MusLinc, you accept that the service may have minor imperfections and that features may evolve or change over time. We also reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with or without notice as part of improving the service.
- No Guarantee of Outcomes: As noted, MusLinc makes no guarantee of finding you a match or partner. Your success on the platform is largely in your own hands and subject to external factors. We facilitate introductions, but we do not control human chemistry or destiny. Likewise, any advice, tips, or information provided by MusLinc (such as dating tips in our blog or suggestions in the app) are general in nature and not professional advice. You should use your own judgment or seek professional guidance for important personal decisions. MusLinc cannot guarantee that following any suggestions will lead to success, and we are not liable for outcomes that don’t meet your expectations.
- User Content and Conduct – Your Responsibility: MusLinc is not responsible for the actions or content of users. We do not control what users choose to say or do on the platform. While we have these rules and employ moderation efforts, you may encounter individuals who violate them or act in bad faith. We do not endorse any user-generated content or opinions – what users share is strictly their own, not the view of MusLinc. If you read something misleading or harmful from another user and act on it, understand that MusLinc is not liable for the consequences. For example, if a user gives you personal advice or makes a claim in chat and you rely on it, that is between you and the user. Always approach interactions with discretion.
- No Liability for User Misconduct: Because user behaviour is beyond our direct control, MusLinc disclaims liability for any harm you may experience due to another user’s conduct. This includes emotional harm, physical harm, or financial loss. If someone you meet on MusLinc behaves inappropriately, breaks the law, or misrepresents themselves, MusLinc is not responsible for their actions (though we certainly want you to report them so we can take action on our platform). You assume all risks when interacting with others through our service. This is why we stress safety precautions – to help you mitigate these risks. In the unlikely event that you suffer harm from meeting someone via MusLinc, MusLinc is not liable for that outcome; the responsibility for vetting and caution lies with each user in their personal interactions. We do, however, promise to act on reports and do what we can within the app to prevent bad actors from causing harm to others.
- Offline Meetings and External Events: Any in-person meeting or communication that takes place outside of the MusLinc app is beyond our control and scope of liability. As stated, if you choose to meet someone in real life or even communicate on a third-party platform, you do so at your own risk. MusLinc does not supervise or get involved in offline arrangements, and we cannot guarantee any user’s identity or intentions once you are off the platform. Always take precautions and use your best judgment in offline dealings. MusLinc is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur in connection with an offline meeting or communication with someone you met through our app. For instance, if you agree to meet a match and they behave badly or unlawfully,MusLinc cannot be held responsible for that person’s actions. Our liability is limited to our platform; once you step outside of it, you must proceed wisely and carefully.
- Privacy and Data: We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with UK GDPR and other applicable data protection laws. Our Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. We will not share your sensitive information without consent except as permitted by law. That said, MusLinc is a paid service and all features or assistance we provide are part of our service offerings – there are no implicit or “free” extra services beyond what is advertised. (For example, we do not provide personal matchmakers, chaperones, or any offline services. Any feature we offer, such as profile verification, is covered by our standard service fees or subscriptions.) By using MusLinc, you agree that you have read our Privacy Policy and understand that misusing others’ personal data is strictly prohibited as noted above.
- Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent allowed by law, MusLinc’s liability to any user is limited. We will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, such as emotional distress, lost opportunities, or data loss. Our total cumulative liability, if any, is capped as described in our Terms of Service (typically at the amount you have paid us, if anything, or a nominal sum). Note that we do not exclude liability for things we cannot under law – for example, if something is caused by our gross negligence or fraud, we will take responsibility as required. But aside from such rare cases, by using MusLinc you acknowledge that our legal responsibility to you is very limited. In simple terms: we provide a platform and will do our best to keep it safe and functional, but we don’t accept liability for all the myriad things that could go wrong in the complex world of human relationships and technology.
By using MusLinc, you agree to abide by these Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines as part of our Terms of Service. All users are required to confirm they meet our eligibility requirements (18+ years of age, no disqualifying criminal convictions, truthful information, etc.) and that they will adhere to these rules. MusLinc takes these guidelines seriously – they are enforced to protect you and the community. If you ever have questions or need to report an issue, our support team is here to help (you can reach out via the in-app support or email). Thank you for being a part of MusLinc and for helping us cultivate a safe, respectful, and enjoyable community for everyone. Let’s work together to uphold these values and make your experience rewarding. Stay safe, be kind, and good luck in your journey on MusLinc!
